3Com Switch 7700 module is a high performance, convergence-ready, 10/100/1000 Module with PoE Support. It delivers 48 ports of high-performance 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet switching and Power over Ethernet (PoE) distribution over Category 5 twisted-pair copper cable. 3Com Switch 7700 module supports on-board or local Layer 2 switching, allowing packets to remain local to the module, which reduces backplane and switch fabric loading. This reduces congestion in the network, minimizing packet loss, to help enable applications to run faster across the network. The reduction in latencies will help improve the quality of video and voice traffic across the network.
